Meet Kathryn
Hello and a Warm Welcome!
To me, the human body in motion is endlessly fascinating. The way we move and the patterns we use can tell many stories of past experiences and therefore, the body offers a pathway to understanding our past and present experiences and offers guidance on how to move forward. The body is awe inspiring in its resilience, capacity to heal, and possibility for joy. I didn’t always believe this.
In a decade long search to manage chronic back pain, I treated my body as something separate from myself - something that limited me and brought hardship. Slowly with the support of incredible teachers my mind and body changed, healed and integrated into one body-mind. Daily Movement is my essential ritual to support my body-mind relationship.
The power of movement in my life inspired my education to become a Contemporary Pilates Teacher, Slings Myo-fascial Training Teacher Advanced Level, and Anatomy Trains Structural Integrator. Inspired by my excellent teachers, Heather Low, Karin Gurtner, & Tom Myers and my passion for sharing knowledge I teach Fascia Focused Movement and Structural Integration. In my role as an educator for art of motion and Anatomy Trains, teach integral anatomy and movement strategies to other manual therapists and movement professionals in courses and workshops both online and in person across North America.
My work with clients is deliberate and collaborative. We work together focusing on awareness, alignment, breath, effortless deep core support and increased movement possibilities. I believe fascia focused movement training offers the possibility to gain or regain mobility, balance, control, agility in every body, opening up the increased possibility for spontaneity and joyful activity.
See you on the Mat,
Kathryn
